An incomparable shared cultural experience!
The International Institute for Conductors’ growing partnership with the Iasi Philharmonic Choir has produced an extraordinary new summer program for in-service conservatory and college choir directors and their students. Directors will spend a week conducting Romania’s premier professional choir in rehearsal and performance while their student vocalists will spend a week in residence as members of the Iasi choir, singing and performing side-by-side with accomplished professionals. The Conducting Fellowship and Singers Residency are designed to complement the Conducting Choral Masterpieces workshop and to provide choir directors with the opportunity to recommend their most promising student conductors and singers to join them in this one-of-a-kind musical collaboration.
Upon acceptance to the program, Conducting Fellows will select between 4 and 8 of their best student vocalists for participation in the Singers Residency program. In addition to collaborating with their Directors in a professional setting, these students will have the extraordinary opportunity to sit in and participate with the Iasi Philharmonic Choir. Tuition for the Singers Residency is a modest $795 US. A double occupancy hotel room with breakfast is included. Private rooms are available for an additional cost.
